Transforming care for new mothers’ hearts

Headshot of researcher Lisa Moran

Dr Moran is a research dietitian and Associate Professor at Monash University’s Monash Centre for Health Research. Her research is dedicated to improving screening and management of women with cardio-metabolic conditions during pregnancy, to minimise the risk of women developing heart disease later in life. Particularly, Lisa wants to work with women who have higher risk factors such as polycystic ovary syndrome or gestational diabetes. These conditions can potentially double the risk of women getting heart disease later in life. This work is made possible by generous supporters of the Heart Foundation.
