Building healthy heart habits

Research shows that a healthy diet and physical exercise at a younger age can prevent heart disease later in life. The earlier you establish healthy habits, the more likely they’ll stick.

It’s this information that inspired Dr. Alice Grady, cardiovascular researcher and parent, to work on programs to promote healthy eating and physical activity in childcare centres.

Dr. Grady says that prevention is always better than cure, and hopes that programs like hers will reduce rates of cardiovascular disease across Australia in the long term.

The impact of Dr. Grady’s work was recognised by a Heart Foundation Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, which has been funded by donors like you.

Thanks to your generosity, our emerging generation of young Australians will be armed with the knowledge and understanding to reduce their risk of heart disease.
