Get your heart rate up for Coastrek 2023!

Coastrek is Australia’s most iconic trekking challenge, and the only one that aims to get more women moving in nature. It’s run by Wild Women On Top, an organisation that aims to empower more women to get moving in nature.

Wild Women On Top is the brainchild of former athlete Di Westaway. Over 20 years ago, Di was feeling fatigued, fed up and unfit, when an acquaintance invited her on a hiking expedition to Mt Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Southern Hemisphere.

Di jumped at the chance, but unfortunately, the pair didn’t make it to the top. Di returned home with a renewed motivation to get fit in the outdoors, and inspire other women to do the same. She began ‘Trek Training’ groups for women, and travelled the world with clients, hiking iconic trails such as Mt Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu.

When the first Sydney Coastrek launched in 2009, there were 40 participants in the 126km trek from La Perouse to Palm Beach. Fourteen years later, the event has raised over $45 million for charity, and is active in five states in Australia.

Its newest event, the Twilight 20km, sees you walk into the twilight with your friends for a fabulous Friday evening in the great outdoors.
